Shaped like a peninsula, Ashbridge’s Bay Park serves as a major stopover for migratory birds, making it one of the top birding hotspots in Toronto. In previous years (2019-2020), Ashbridge’s Bay Nature Stewards (ABNS), the TRCA, NECP, and Forestry planted many native trees and shrubs in the park. In 2021, ABNS established the park as one of the pioneer TNS sites, and are actively removing invasive plants to help the native biodiversity thrive.
The Ashbridges Bay Park Stewardship Team has a Blog Post on our site and the West Woodbine Beach, Dune and Meadow Habitat, Biodiversity and Damage report Summer 2022 that led to the protection of the beach from the establishment of a disc golf course.
